Aerosystems Flapper Valves are butterfly valves driven by a motor or a remotely manual actuator.
The valve is easily driven by the pilot to open or limit the ram air intakes of cabin and cockpit low pressure distribution system. The valves are made of a composite or aluminium cylindrical core. Inside the core a circular flap held by a shaft performs the flow limitation. The actuation of the flap is driven by a light flexible wire and a remotely control mechanical device or by a motor actuator.
Aerosystems Flapper Valves can be motorized with a rotary actuator to move the valve in automatic mode.
Aerosystems Flapper Valves were developed to actuate a butterfly valves in ECS air ducts on helicopters and airplanes.
With Motorization and easily connected by a V-Clamp or by a Bracket, they can be used to move different kind of valves (Ball-Valve, Shut-off Valves, etc.) to control hot and cold air. Thanks to excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties of PEEK and Anodized Aluminium, extensively used in body components, can offer remarkable characteristics in a very light weight. Our Flapper Valves are an essential equipment in Environmental Control System(ECS) for pilot to perform flight mission. It provides pilots and crews with heating, ventilating and air conditioning. MOTORIZED FLAPPER VALVE
The Motorized Flapper Valve (MFV) is an electronically operated airflow control valve for critical environments, this small airflow Flapper Valve is made by a tube, a disc-type flap valve (also called butterfly) and a servo actuator controlling the flow of air through ducts, it has the function to regulate the airflow passing into the duct. The MFV is designed to assure lower noise level, easy air flow control and stable flow conditions. The body of the valve is of CNC machining construction with single flap machined to close tolerance for proper sealing between the flap and the body.
All parts of the MFV are accessible simplifying installation requirements. The MFV can be easily installed with flexicle ducts and fixed with adjustable hose clips clamps.
The servo actuator is driven by a 28V coreless DC motor, connected with an Electronic Control an EMI Filter Board and Hall Sensors for “open/close” positions verification, and flap zeroing (at every power on).
